Hemp Laws & Compliance
Common questions about 2026 hemp regulations and state compliance.
Is hemp legal in all 50 states in 2026?
Hemp that meets the federal 2026 total-THC threshold (≤0.3% combined Δ9-THC plus THCA) is legal under federal law. Individual states may restrict or prohibit specific products, especially Delta-8 and other converted cannabinoids. Always check your state's rules via our State Hemp Laws hub.
What is 'total-THC' and why does it matter?
Total-THC is the combined post-decarboxylation value of Δ9-THC and THCA. The 2026 Farm Bill updates enforce this measurement so high-THCA flower — which converts to Δ9 when heated — is no longer a legal workaround.
Is Delta-8 still legal?
Delta-8 legality varies state-by-state. It remains federally legal when derived from compliant hemp, but roughly half of U.S. states restrict or ban it. See our Delta cannabinoid guide for the current landscape.
Can I travel with hemp products across state lines?
Federally compliant hemp products can cross state lines under federal law, but some states enforce stricter rules on possession or transport. Keep your Certificate of Analysis accessible and check your destination state's regulations before traveling.
Can I ship FireBar Labs products internationally?
We currently ship within the United States only. International customs laws on hemp products vary widely and change often — we don't risk your order being seized. We'll expand international shipping as regulations stabilize.
Do I need a medical card to buy your products?
No. FireBar Labs sells federally compliant hemp products that don't require a medical card. Age verification (21+) is required at checkout.
Cannabinoids Explained
Understanding CBD, THC, and the growing family of hemp-derived cannabinoids.
What's the difference between CBD and THC?
CBD is non-intoxicating and supports wellness applications like sleep, recovery, and calm. THC is intoxicating and produces the characteristic 'high.' Both interact with your endocannabinoid system but through different receptors. See our full cannabinoid guide.
What is the entourage effect?
The entourage effect is the theory that cannabinoids and terpenes work better together than in isolation. Full-spectrum hemp products contain a broader cannabinoid profile and may produce effects that isolated CBD or THC cannot replicate alone.
What are minor cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, and CBC?
Minor cannabinoids are the less-discussed members of the cannabinoid family. CBG is often called 'the mother cannabinoid.' CBN is associated with sedation and sleep support. CBC shows promise for mood and recovery applications. Our Major vs Minor Cannabinoids guide goes deeper.
What's the difference between Delta-8, Delta-9, and Delta-10 THC?
All three are THC variants with different molecular structures. Delta-9 is the classic, most well-researched form. Delta-8 is reported to be roughly 60-70% as potent with a smoother profile. Delta-10 is typically described as more energizing and sativa-like.
Is HHC the same as Delta-8?
No. HHC (hexahydrocannabinoid) is a hydrogenated cannabinoid that shares some effects with THC but has a distinct chemical structure. It tends to be more stable in storage and has its own effect profile.
What is THC-P and how is it different?
THC-P is a naturally occurring cannabinoid reported to be significantly more potent than Δ9-THC at the CB1 receptor. Products containing THC-P should be used at much lower doses by experienced users only.
How much CBD should I take?
Dosing depends on body weight, tolerance, and goal. Start with 10-25mg and adjust gradually. For sleep, research suggests 25-75mg taken 60-90 minutes before bed. Consult a healthcare provider if you take other medications.
Will CBD show up on a drug test?
Pure CBD isolate products should not trigger drug tests. Full-spectrum hemp products contain trace THC (≤0.3%) which, with frequent use, can accumulate and potentially cause a positive test. If drug-tested regularly, choose broad-spectrum or isolate products.
Can I take CBD with my medications?
CBD interacts with certain medications via the same liver enzymes that process them (CYP450). Always talk to your pharmacist or doctor before combining CBD with prescription medications — especially blood thinners, seizure medications, and statins.
Smell-Proof Bags & StealthWear
How our odor-control gear actually works.
How does a smell-proof bag actually work?
Our bags use a five-layer system: activated coconut-carbon liner, double-gasket zipper seal, ripstop outer shell, waterproof membrane, and a bonded internal lining. The carbon layer adsorbs odor molecules while the zipper prevents air leakage — together blocking over 99% of detectable odor.
How long does the odor-control last?
The activated carbon liner stays effective for 6-12 months of regular use. You can extend its life by airing the bag out in direct sunlight for a few hours when odor performance drops. Heavily used bags may benefit from occasional carbon refresh.
Can I wash my smell-proof bag?
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash or submerge — water can degrade the activated carbon liner and waterproof membrane. Let the bag air dry completely before zipping closed.
What's the difference between your Essential and Executive lines?
Essential bags prioritize smell-proofing and lockable security at accessible price points. Executive bags add laptop-ready padding, USB-C fast-charge ports, premium leather trim, and travel-grade durability. Both use the same core odor-control system.
Is the lock actually secure?
The integrated combination lock is designed to deter casual access — not replace a safe. It's effective for keeping bags closed from children, guests, and prying hands, but a determined thief with tools can always defeat any portable lock.
What is StealthWear?
StealthWear is our smell-proof apparel line — hoodies and joggers with hidden carbon-lined pockets for discreet carry. Same odor-control tech as our bags, built into everyday streetwear.
Safety & Harm Reduction
Using products responsibly.
What's the right starting dose for someone new to hemp?
Start low and go slow. For edibles, 5-10mg is a reasonable starting point — wait at least 90 minutes before taking more. For tinctures, 10-25mg of CBD or 5mg of THC is a typical starting dose. Tolerance builds quickly; the lowest effective dose is always the best dose.
What do I do if I take too much?
Stay calm — edible cannabinoids can feel overwhelming but are not dangerous to healthy adults. Find a safe, quiet place. Hydrate. Sleep if you can. CBD may help counteract THC intensity. The effect peaks within 2-4 hours for edibles and diminishes from there. Seek medical help if you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, or underlying heart conditions.
Can I drive after using your products?
No. Even federally compliant hemp products can impair judgment and reaction time. Never drive, operate heavy machinery, or perform tasks requiring full cognitive function after consuming cannabinoid products — including CBD, since products can contain trace THC.
Are your products safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
No hemp or cannabinoid products should be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. The FDA has advised against this. If you're pregnant, nursing, or planning to become pregnant, please skip our products and consult your doctor.
How should I store hemp products?
Cool, dark, dry, and out of reach of children and pets. Heat and light degrade cannabinoids over time. Most edibles stay best in the original packaging in a cupboard or pantry. Tinctures and oils last longer refrigerated after opening.
What's your age requirement?
You must be 21 or older to purchase FireBar Labs products, regardless of your state's local age rules. We verify at checkout and require adult signature on delivery for some items.
Entheogenic Products
Our MAJESTK and Super Smashed lines.
What are entheogenic mushrooms?
Entheogenic mushrooms are fungi that have been used ceremonially for millennia across many cultures. Our MAJESTK and Super Smashed lines use legal, functional mushroom extracts formulated for responsible, intentional use. See our complete guide.
Are your mushroom products legal?
Yes. Our entheogenic mushroom products contain legal, federally compliant ingredients. We do not sell psilocybin products. State laws vary — check your local regulations.
How should I dose MAJESTK for my first time?
Start with one-quarter to one-half of a serving (0.125-0.25g) on an empty stomach. Wait at least 90 minutes to assess effects before redosing. Have a trusted, sober companion and a calm environment.
What's the difference between MAJESTK and Super Smashed?
MAJESTK is our ceremonial-grade, precision-dosed line for intentional experiences. Super Smashed is our lighter-dose, social-occasion line designed for more accessible effects. Both use premium craft extracts.
Can I combine MAJESTK with other hemp products?
We recommend against combining cannabinoid and entheogenic products, especially when you're new to either. Interactions are unpredictable and can intensify both effects. Use one category at a time until you know how each affects you.
Pet Products (FireBarks)
CBD for dogs — done right.
Is CBD safe for my dog?
Yes, when dosed appropriately. FireBarks is specifically formulated for dogs using THC-free broad-spectrum hemp. THC is toxic to dogs, so never give them human cannabis products. See our evidence-based guide.
How much FireBarks should I give my dog?
Typical starting dose is 0.2mg CBD per pound of body weight, up to twice daily. A 50lb dog starts at ~10mg. Adjust gradually based on your dog's response. Always start on the lower end, especially for small breeds.
Can I give FireBarks to my cat?
FireBarks is formulated specifically for dogs. If you're interested in CBD for cats, consult your veterinarian — cats metabolize cannabinoids differently and require different dosing and formulations.
What are common reasons pet owners use CBD for dogs?
Pet owners most commonly use FireBarks for anxiety (separation, storms, travel), joint support in senior dogs, and post-exercise recovery. Results vary by dog — consult your vet if you're treating a specific medical condition.
