That distinction protects the usefulness of both terms. Calling every odor-containment product airtight stretches a precise word until it stops meaning anything. FireBar Labs describes its bags as smell-proof and does not substitute a more technical claim that the product has not been certified to meet.

A good bag can address three separate household needs without pretending they are one.
